The Sleepwalker's Guide to Dancing by Mira Jacobs

In this novel by Mira Jacob, it is 1998, and Amina is a professional photographer living in Seattle when she receives a call from her mother, Kamala. Amina learns that her renowned brain-surgeon father, Thomas, is in the midst of what appears to be a mental breakdown. The family moved from India to New Mexico in the 1980s following a visit to India that led to a terrible tragedy. Now Amina goes back home to discover that her father's illness is related to that fateful trip and the actions of her brother, Akhil. Amina knows she is the only one who can uncover the truth of what is going on and finally confront the secrets that her family has been keeping for decades.

We will read fairly current fiction (maybe even nonfiction) that will be entertaining and well written. We will meet on the first Monday of each month at 7:00 PM.
