First Impressions : A novel of old books, unexpected love, and Jane Austen by Charlie Lovett.

In 21st-century England, Sophie Collingwood pursues her interest in Jane Austen through her research at Oxford and her relationship with her bibliophile uncle, Bertram. When Bertram dies--under suspicious circumstances, Sophie believes--Sophie inherits his house, loses his library to debt collectors, and takes a job at a used book store. She sets out to track down Bertram's books, but she is also on the lookout for an obscure 18th-century book sought by two customers. In the novel's 18th-century timeline, young Jane Austen has yet to be published. She receives guidance from Reverend Richard Mansfield, and the two form a deep friendship. But how much influence does Mansfield have on Austen's finished works? That is what Sophie's two mysterious customers are trying to find out. With Jane Austen's literary reputation on the line, Sophie puts her life at risk to find the truth.  Books & Authors
